The rum industry is more aggressive than ever. In the US alone, new micro distilleries are producing a variety of spirits, including rum too. In fact, major global brands are now looking for new markets and territories to increase their sales and brand awareness. At the same time, rum aficionado wave is on the rise, where people are sharing their experience throughout social media & web.
Also, the key factors responsible for the growth of the distilled spirit are the rum events, activities & festivals that are also supporting the industry. On Dec 6th, 2014, Federico J. Hernández will be producing the 1st ever MidWest Rum Festival that will take place at “The Kentucky International Convention Center”, downtown Louisville, Kentucky.

This key event is primarily meant for educating consumers about the varieties and tastes of Micro Distillery & Premium Rums, which are available around the following states: Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee & Missouri.

According to Russell Glass (River City Distributing – Director of Wines & Spirits), “The Midwest Rum Festival and its focus on consumer traffic is just the type of event that we as distributors of fine aged rums want and need to support. Rum is a category that is poised to surge in the wake of other aged spirits growth in popularity among all types of consumers. While rum is arguably more approachable than many other spirits, namely whiskey…Fine aged rums still need more consumer awareness and trial.”

Presently, attendees to this event will enjoy live entertainment starting with a calypso band, salsa band, and cover band playing their favorite radio songs. Besides, a variety of Rums Ambassadors will be giving seminars about their specific distilled cane liquor. Based upon the price of ticket, the consumers will be able to enjoy different benefits.
